Hello – I’m Gary Kersten, M.D., Board Certified in Phlebology (treatment of varicose veins and venous disorders). I have been in the practice of medicine for over thirty years, and have dedicated my practice solely to the treatment of varicose veins and venous insufficiency since 2007. I began my medical career as a Board Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologist and enjoyed delivering babies and providing medical care to women in Michigan, Illinois and Arizona. I then had an opportunity to get some advanced specialized training in the diagnosis and treatment of varicose veins, and truly enjoyed that area of medicine. I took and passed the specialty Board examination for Phlebology, and now exclusively treat vein patients. I get a feeling of satisfaction when I can improve the function and appearance of a patient suffering with vein problems which are in many cases covered by insurance.
When I was offered the opportunity to associate with Dr Alpern, I immediately accepted his offer as I am aware of his high practice abilities and ethics, and he is proving a state-of-the-art facility where patient care will be the primary focus.
