State-of-the-Art Vein Treatment for Spider Veins, Varicose Veins, Venous Insufficiency and Stasis Leg Ulcers at VSA
Jeffrey Alpern, D.O.
Cardiovascular surgeon and vein specialist, Dr. Jeffrey Alpern founded Vein Specialists of Arizona (VSA) to meet the needs of large numbers of people in Arizona who suffer from poorly treated or mismanaged venous disease. Another goal of VSA is to provide state-of-the-art aesthetic spider vein and varicose vein treatment along with an evaluation that rules out a serious underlying vein problem. Dr. Alpern is one of a few vein doctors nationwide to exclusively use simple, virtually painless, out-patient needle stick laser ablation procedures to cure existing varicose veins, venous insufficiency and stasis leg ulcers.
Diagnosis of Venous Disease
Venous disease treatment at VSA begins with a diagnostic screening exam that includes an office consultation to determine risk factors, significant health history and signs of venous disease. In the same visit, patients receive an ultrasound evaluation to detect venous pathology. At the conclusion of their appointment, patients are provided with an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. Patients coming for aesthetic spider vein and varicose vein procedures also receive a screening exam to rule out an underlying venous disease condition in need of correction.
Venous Disease Treatment
For many years, Dr. Jeffrey Alpern has successfully used Laser Ablation surgical techniques for the treatment of incompetent venous perforators and saphenous veins that has resulted in a permanent cure for existing venous leg ulcers, varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency. The actual removal of large varicose veins is accomplished through Microphlebectomy, a quick and relatively painless procedure. Laser spider vein procedures, sclerotherapy or a combination is used for aesthetic spider vein removal and removal of smaller varicose veins.
